Welcome to my homepage

My name is ʻŌiwi Parker Jones. I am a fourth year doctoral candidate at the University of Oxford, where John Coleman is my supervisor. I work on computational and experimental linguistics. I also specialize on Polynesian languages, notably Hawaiian.

Incidentally, I have been "abroad" in the 2007-08 academic year -- first, in the ONZE lab, which is run by Jen Hay at the University of Canterbury's Department of Linguistics, then, with The Stanford NLP Group, which is run by Chris Manning and Dan Jurafsky, at Stanford University's Department of Linguistics. Ivan Sag was my host at Stanford.

On a personal note, I was born and raised in Hawaiʻi, where I grew up speaking Hawaiian, English, and Hawaiian Creole English. E ola mau ka ʻ ōlelo Hawaiʻ i!
