Dr Hannah Davidson

Outreach Officer, Tutor and Lecturer in Linguistics

I am the faculty’s outreach officer. I organise the yearly UNIQ summer school in Linguistics and deliver taster sessions/workshops in Linguistics throughout the year to pupils from Year 7-12. I am involved with designing Linguistics sessions for Oxplore and delivering workshops on the Think Like a Linguist project with Modern Languages and Cambridge Widening Participation, which targets Year 8’s in the Manchester region.

I am interested in multilingualism, language attitudes and language change. My previous work explored discourse markers in Mauritian Creole and my D.Phil investigated Mauritian Creole’s tense, mood and aspect (TMA) markers. I am currently finishing a project on the Telugu language in India and Mauritius. For more information, please visit my personal website: hdavidson.netlify.app
