Hanne Eckhoff is a historical corpus linguist who has worked extensively on building diachronic text corpora (treebanks) for early East and South Slavonic, including Old Church Slavonic and Middle Russian, within a wider initiative to build such resources for early attestations of the major Indo-European branches. Her research centres on the history of verbal aspect, case and definiteness marking in East and South Slavonic, with an emphasis on comparison of Old Church Slavonic with Greek. She also works on methodological and computational topics related to corpus building. She is happy to supervise graduate students on any of these topics.
