JUST PUBLISHED: Gede Primahadi W. Rajeg, Bernd Nothofer, Daniel Krauße 'Bahasa Enggano yang terancam punah masih berkarib dengan bahasa Austronesia'

This is a popular article (written in Indonesian and published in The Conversation) that describes two pieces of evidence for the genetic relationship of Enggano as an Austronesian language. This evidence is the regular sound change and the metaphoric use of the Enggano word for ‘eye’ to refer to ‘window’ (a similar semantic extension of EYE-related word to ‘window’ is also found in several Austronesian languages linked in the article). The article is largely based on the book chapter written by Bernd Nothofer (Nothofer 2021), supported by other studies linked throughout the article.
