Dr Robin Meyer

Diebold Research Assistant in Comparative Philology

My current research looks at the historical development and typology of relative clauses in the Italic group of Indo-European, esp. in pre-Classical Latin. In my doctoral dissertation, which I am currently preparing for publication, I have looked at the influence of West Middle Iranian languages on the syntax of Classical Armenian.

In general, my research and teaching focuses on historical linguistics, specifically of Latin, Greek, Classical Armenian, and West Middle Iranian (Parthian, Middle Persian). In particular, I am interested in the language contact between ancient languages, and the historical development of relative clauses and their typology.

Next to my RA position, I also work at the Classics Faculty as Lector for Latin and Greek language, and support the Philological Society as Secretary for Student Associate Members.
