Hello! I am a first-year DPhil student in the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics, working with Professor Colin Phillips.  I am broadly interested in how the human brain constructs complex linguistic representations in real-time, from speech to sentence, in both speaking and understanding. My current focus has been on (i) how verb-argument binding relation is computed in real-time comprehension, and (ii) how an apparent contrast of the contextual constraint effect between comprehension and production might tell us more generally about the predictive mechanisms.

Before my DPhil, I also completed my MPhil in Oxford, where I received the Faculty's Katrina Hayward Prize for the best overall performance. I did my undergrad in Beijing Foreign Studies University, China, where I developed interests in phonetics and second language learning. This line of interest continues to this day. (Personal website coming soon!)

I am grateful to the Oxford-Kaifeng Graduate Scholarship for generously supporting my DPhil research.
